Don't be misled by the traditional pub exterior of the Anglesea Arms. The restaurant lies at the back of the pub and holds around ten tables. There are no fancy touches - the decor is simple and unpretentious. But with all the praise that it receives, the restaurant is constantly full - so do arrive as early as possible. It is quite difficult to pigeon-hole the cuisine - the gorgonzola gnocchi is surely Italian yet the ham, egg and chips couldn't be more British. The wines are well-chosen and reasonably priced.
