Established since 1840, this traditional and comfortable pub is known as one of Bayswater's most characterful watering holes. It took its unusual name from the manly sport favoured by occupiers of the land in the early 19th century. Hops hanging from the champagne bottle-laden bar, latter jars with wood panels and the traditional wallpaper, all add to the rich colourful ambience. The pub's entertainment includes board games, darts, fruit machines, satellite TV and quiz nights.
