This busy, modern and fun restaurant and bar in the basement of the smart One Aldwych hotel has a striking 1930s feel with its muted colours and huge, double-height mural. Impressive modern British cuisine, injected with Eastern influences, is the order of the day: Warm Potato Terrine with balsamic onion dressing and fresh truffles, Japanese Saikyo Cod with udon noodles, ginger shoot, pumpkin and dashi, Hay-baked Leg of Lamb with clapshot potatoes, organic salmon with pea risotto. And the puddings are to-die-for and the Truffle and the Hot Chocolate Soufflé come out as clear favourites. You can also choose from set menus at lunch, either two courses or the three courses.
