The best hairdressers are impossible to book in London. Take the astronomically priced B:ZAR, for instance. Although smaller than its former incarnation on strip joint-heavy Great Windmill Street, its wooden floors, white waiting sofa, and funky staff all add to its hip appeal. Haircuts are around £30, even cheaper with student discounts. One thing though - the all-Japanese staff speak limited English.
