A leading independent cinema in the metropolis, Barbican Screen mixes commercial hits with international film seasons, plus special events and celebrity interviews. There are three separate cinemas. Screens 1 and 2 show independent and commercial releases, while Screen 3 is reserved mainly for conferences and private viewings. Films are shown nightly, with matinees at the weekend. There is also a children's cinema club. Cinema 1 has 286 seats, while Cinema 2 has 255.
