This quality Italian restaurant was famous long before it was featured in the romantic comedy film Sliding Doors. It stands on the site of the original Bertorelli's, founded over 80 years ago, though it's virtually unrecognisable as a traditional Italian trattoria. Refurbishment has transformed the interior into a modern, near-industrial cavity, all stainless steel and bright light. Similarly, the menu has a contemporary feel, so you won't find 101 different varieties of pasta and sauces. Instead, choose from treats such as baked cod in a parmesan and basil crust with balsamic dressing, and pork saltimbucca with oyster mushrooms and marsala. The café serves up a range of reliable Italian fare: expect crostini, bruschetta, salads, pizza and pasta dishes.
