The weekend transformation of this rather ordinary after-work drinking den into a hip hangout for fashionable young Londoners borders on the surreal. Nonetheless, on Friday and Saturday nights the office types that usually relax among the Blue Angel's wooden fixtures disappear. In their place emerge some of the city's most weird and wonderful inhabitants, out to enjoy an eclectic musical platter of reggae, ska, soul, trip-hop and jazz. It might not be the most salubrious of venues, but with a friendly, down to earth crowd, it's certainly one of the most fun.
