Blue Badge Guides are official tourist guides who have to go through training and selection before certification by the British Tourist Board. In London, the training program is 18 months, so it's no surprise that you're most likely going to get an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Prices vary according to the tour, whether standard or bespoke; an example is a four-hour tour for £85. The service is fully flexible - you can make up your own tour and go on it whenever you want to but remember it costs more at night. One day a year Blue Badge Guides invite everyone to a free programme of tours and talks. This International Tourist Guide Day is usually in February.
