Allegedly the best café in a London book store, you can relax and peruse your reading matter over a rejuvenating and delicious cup of coffee. Situated on the first floor, the bright and comfortable cafe serenely overlooks the bustle below on Charing Cross Road. Spoilt for choice between an enticing selection of coffees, fragrant fruit teas, smoothies and organic juices, your powers of decision are pushed to the limit between gourmet sandwiches, bagels, muffins and home-made cakes like Moist Chocolate, Orange and Blueberry, sumptuous Carrot Cake, Date and Walnut Loaf, and a tempting array flapjacks and brownies. And did you know they even allow you to take any book or magazine into the cafe, without buying it first? Naturally it becomes busy as the day goes on, but provides wonderful solace in the early morning. Once a month the store organises a Borders Business Breakfast event in the café.
