A bouchon is a small, simple style restaurant serving local specialities in Lyons, France's gourmet capital. Made in the typical French brasserie mould, Le Bouchon is among the most longstanding restaurants in the area, owing its success to the endearingly familiar faces of traditional French fare and a diverse selection of wines. The smiling French accent that answered an enquiry about opening hours with "all the time, all the days", belies a rather lackadaisical waiting staff, but this is all part of the charm.
