The Champion is something of a haven in this neck of the woods. It is quiet and relaxed and offers a warm and cosy environment. Its most notable feature, as far as decor is concerned, are the large, dominant stained glass windows. Neither floor of the two-level pub seems to get overly busy, although the downstairs section seems to have a better atmosphere. The selection of beers is good and decent pub food is also served.
