At Chez Bruce, both the location and the plain dining-room decor belie the sophisticated excellence of the cuisine produced. Perhaps a Park Lane address and a sumptuous interior might be more symbolically reflective of the experience, but they would detract from its unique character. The emphasis here is the creation of unpretentious cuisine based on excellent ingredients and cooked with wonderful finesse. While the cuisine is classic French, such choices as Lamb Rump on a Bed of Couscous or Pork Confit with Salsa Verde prove that even French food isn't immune to positive outside influences. Daily fixed-price menus are available for lunch and dinner for £20-£26. House wine is £11 and there are many others served by the glass.
