Stocking around 15,000 titles, The Children's Book Centre claims to be the largest children's bookshop in London. There are books for tiny tots to early teens and it's open until mid-evening, which gives the harassed parent a chance to pop in after work. There's also an excellent selection of audio and videotapes, gifts, cards and toys. The shop also runs a CBC Privilege club - after 10 purchases you'll be refunded 10 per cent of what you've spent, in the form of anything from the shop. You'll have to have kept your receipts though, obviously.
