This is an established wine bar near heaving Leicester Square, yet it's an informal place which remains hidden below ground from the masses. New World wines feature prominently on the wine list, and over 30 are available by the glass. Sit in an alcove and enjoy your chosen bottle's bouquet and body. The Cork and Bottle is also a bistro, and there's a hot and cold buffet serving salads, pates and cheeses throughout the day, but these are perhaps more of an afterthought. They're still popular though: the bar's owner reckons they've served over one million portions of their warm raised ham and cheese pie.
