This long-standing cafe has a loyal clientele who love the intimate, old-fashioned ambience and food. Daquise has that no-nonsense look of worn-out formica, but the service is friendly and the clapped-out decor does not feel depressing, but is rather reassuringly unpretentious. The food is traditional and home-cooked. The Barszcz (a clear, Polish version of borscht), Bigos (meat stew with sauerkraut) and Schnitzels are firm favourites. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable.
