The Dove is a real olde worlde riverside pub with wooden beams, coal fires and winding little corridors - venture away from the bar to the toilet and you might get lost. It gets packed on Boat Race Day, and the terrace overlooking the river at the rear offers one of the best vantage points from which to view the race. In the winter, this is a fine pub if you feel like warming yourself in front of a fire with a good pint of ale. The large and attractive dining area and is mainly frequented by an older, local clientele. The menu contains traditional English fare alongside curries and plenty of vegetarian dishes. Children are not allowed in but, curiously enough, dogs are.
