This late-19th century theatre stages many Royal Court productions, along with the delightful Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square. Like the New Ambassadors Theatre, the Duke of York's is a favourite with the arts theatre crowd, who have to battle tourists and casual theatre-goers for tickets. The relatively small (649 seats) auditorium can be rented for buffets, press receptions and private parties, and bar and catering services are also available. With an air cooling system and disabled access, there are also facilities for the hard of hearing.
