This long-standing, stylish French venue in London's vibrant Soho district continues to enchant with finely judged combinations and first class ingredients. Once Bohemian, the dining room is now decorated in calming creams and chic Chagall prints. There's a similar sophistication in the cuisine. Firmly rooted in the French kitchen, dishes such as fillet of sea bass with spinach, rosti and summer truffles, or the signature feuilleté of snails, button onions, lardons and morels, show that a creative muscle can be flexed when necessary. Service can be occasionally nonchalant, in a French shoulder-shrugging kind of way. A set menu is available in the ground floor restaurant at lunchtime and for early-bird diners between 6p-7p.
