This isn't the Italian fashion that you may be used to. It's not slick, black and chic like Giorgio Armani, sexy like Gucci or flashy like Versace. Although Gimmo Etro made his name creating colourful, slightly hippie collections, today the brand is known for its use of rich fabrics (silks, velvets, brocades) and simply designed dresses, skirts and jackets - although Etro's trademark paisley prints still make an appearance. There's also an exquisite range of accessories, ranging from beautifully embroidered purses to lovingly handcrafted bags. The menswear is generally less accessible, but the knitwear is gorgeous.
