Here Hampstead retains something of its village life: cricket and darts team scores are posted outside. The ale is a highlight, with Youngs' brews pump by hand into your glass. You'd almost think it was a wine bar with the fantastic list of twenty different kinds, all available by the glass (well, it is a discerning, wealthy thespian crowd that drink here.) Two entrances show the Flask's double life - plain public bar and comfortable lounge which leads onto a dining conservatory. All the food is home-made and has included soup, pasta, bubble-and-squeak, and more exotic dishes such as Jamaican curry or Indonesian fish chowder.
