Huge succulent steaks served exactly how you ask for them, at cheap prices, and with a smile. This Swedish restaurant seems to be one of Soho's best-kept secret, but it does fill up suddenly after 9p with a mixture of Scandinavians and locals. The garlic theme allows for more variation than you might think, and there is a good selection of vodkas too. The tables are packed very tightly together, which makes for a cosy, friendly atmosphere as the evening progresses. At the back of the restaurant is a set of steps leading down into the bar, a minuscule gothic den of black mirrors, waxwork dummies, cheap vodka, and pounding rock music - all quite different from the eatery above, but equally friendly.
