The Guildhall Art Gallery houses the Corporation of London's unique art collection. Built in 1999, the new gallery occupies the same site as its predecessor, sadly destroyed by fire during World War II. Approximately 250 pieces are on display throughout the gallery's three floors, and the permanent collection, comprising 4,000 paintings, drawings and sculptures, has been built up since the 1660s. This collection includes royal and mayoral portraits from the 16th century, paintings of London from the 17th century to the present, and many 19th century and Victorian paintings by artists such as Constable, Landseer, Millais and Lord Leighton. Admission: £2.50, concessions £1, children under 16 free. All of Friday and after 3:30p, it's free.
