As is now the trademark of all modern pubs, the Havelock has wooden floorboards and chunky wooden furnishings. The bar spans the length of the pub and serves as a useful prop when the tables fill up. Get there early to ensure a table - this place is seriously popular. It's the excellent standard of food that causes people to flock to the Havelock. The starters are large enough to order as a main course if you're not too hungry, but the main courses are definitely worth trying. The menu typically comprises a fish and beef dish as well as a vegetarian selection. The wine list is short and simple and the menu changes everyday and is good value.
