William Hogarth (1697-1764) was a famous English engraver and painter. See over 200 of his works, including well-known engravings and other memorabilia, at his 18th century Chiswick home where he lived from 1749-1764. The house, now a gallery and museum, was restored in honour of the artist's tercentenary in 1997. He is buried in the graveyard at St Nicholas' Church, just 10 minutes away.
