The Islington International Festival is a two-week medley of visual arts exhibitions, plus music and poetry events put on at the Town Hall and local churches to celebrate the talent and diversity of this urban community. The festival culminates with the closure of the borough's Upper Street for a massive party featuring street performers, contemporary art on every corner and live music from around the world. Local restaurants and pubs join in the fun by spilling out onto the pavement.
