Ever popular in its local Fulham/Parsons Green area, Joe's Brasserie provides a combination of reasonable prices with simple but decent fare, and attracts a youngish local crowd. Joe's adopted the rustic look early; it has since become the hallmark of a lot of new restaurants and bars aimed at a twenty-something clientele. The atmosphere is best described as simple and relaxed, though it can get quite noisy in the evenings, when large groups of locals bump into each other. The menu is fairly simple (steaks, salads and the like), but what is offered is prepared reliably well - the fish cakes are reasonable and the chicken Caesar is chunkier than in most places. The wine list is very reasonably priced, comprising all the usual suspects - most from the New World.
