Of particular note is the underrated electronics department, stocking an extensive range of computers, phones, faxes, TVs, video and audio equipment, all offered with sound advice, solid guarantees, and competitive prices. The own-brand fashion designs are perhaps more practical than cutting edge, but there is a worthy collection of childrenswear including school uniforms. John Lewis excels in home furnishings, with enough scope to refurbish and accessorise your entire house with made-to-order and made-to-last designs. Haberdashery and fabrics also come highly commended and the store provides an impressive array of services including free wedding lists, lingerie fittings, furnishing advisory service, and deliveries.
