Benches in the alleyway become coveted seats on Sundays when musicians busk and the crowds pour by, heading off for the Columbia Raod Flower Market. First-rate lemon squash, homely mugs of hot chocolate and cafetiere coffee are proffered. Lemon cheesecake, bagel sandwiches, loaves of bread and cheeses are quickly snapped up. No credit cards accepted, but then if you're off to the flower market you know to bring cash.
