Matches could be the hippest boutique in Notting Hill- quite a feat in this neck of the woods. The two floors, both creatively designed with low white leather sofas and new art on the walls, are filled with clothes from Marc Jacobs, Timothy Everest, Marni and Richard James. It's one of the few places on this side of the Atlantic that stores the very fashionable Earl Jeans. The wrap dresses from US designer Diane Von Furstenburg are another big draw, as are the hats from Tracy Watts, who was responsible for the recent cowboy hat mania. The shoe selection is extensive with lots of Helmut Lang bondage numbers. And you won't have to fight for mirror space when trying on shoes, as there is a generous supply of full-length mirrors. If you are important enough and need privacy while shopping, there is a VIP area downstairs, fully equipped with a bar, snacks, small library, dinning table, sofa and toys for the kids. The staff are great. Fashionistas worth their salt frequent this boutique regularly.
