What better relic to epitomise a British childhood than Punch and Judy, that irrepressible puppet duo? On the second Sunday in May, Covent Garden celebrates the craft of puppetry with Punch and Judy acts from all over the country, and also other puppetry acts; some of which push the limits of what can be done with puppets. There is also a processional parade and a unique church service for Punch in St Paul's Church in the morning. The whole event is for a good cause, raising money for the local Community Association.
