Cuddly TV gastronome Antonio Carluccio's upmarket dining venue - next door to his shop, Carluccio's - tempts you in with baskets of fresh produce by the entrance. The Conran-designed décor is a bit of a throwback to the eighties, but is combined with a rustic streak that hints at the genuine Italian home-cooking served. If you're familiar with the books and TV programmes of the jovial Italian you'll know he loves to take advantage of fresh seasonal produce, and this is reflected in the restaurant's menu. Mushrooms are a particular favourite of his, so if you're a fellow mushroom-lover, be sure to sample some of them. There are dishes like Warm Mushroom and Pancetta Salad, Wild Mushroom Soup, and Mixed Sautéed Mushrooms. Other pasta, meat and vegetarian dishes can all be found on the menu as well. Be warned - dinner is quite expensive. But you'll probably find it's worth it. Also at: Carluccio's at St Christopher's, 325 Barrett Street, Tel: +44 20 7935 5927
