This upscale local attracts not only loyal local residents of affluent Hampstead, but foodies from all over London. Light and charming, with exposed brick walls, Spanish tiles and white tablecloths, The New End really fits in with the rest of Hampstead. Critics seem to be unanimous in their praise for the restaurant's short but near perfect menu which even has a separate heading for vegetarian options. Try the oxtail ravioli and the wild mushroom risotto, both delicious. For dessert the aromatic tarte tatin with its sweet, tangy, crisp base and tender apples can't be beaten. The wine list is equally short, but there's something to match everything on the menu.
