The spacious dining area at Obalende Suya, decorated with spears, provides an excellent view of the barbecue kitchen where the authentic Nigerian cuisine is prepared. Generous portions of stewed meats, pounded cassava, chicken or okra dishes all come liberally spiced, and so are not for the faint of heart or palate. Break with convention and eat with your fingers. Or see how much you can put away at the Sunday buffet, where the rule laid down by the lively staff is to "eat till you drop". The Sunday entertainment provided by live Nigerian bands, on hold at the moment, is set to return soon.
