Every city must have an Orso among its dependable and central stalwarts. This buzzy yet intimate establishment, part of the group that includes Orsino, is a theatre crowd favourite. Unfortunately, the tables are a bit too close together, but the service is efficient and professional. The extensive wine list, rustic Italian decor and, of course, the constant buzz, mean that it translates into a perfect pre- or post-theatre venue. The menu changes daily and can include choices like Fried Courgette Flowers, pizzas, pastas, risottos and Seared Scallops. The Italian cuisine is delicious but not contrived. Orso proves that a central location in Covent Garden is just an added plus to the cuisine.
