Paddington (formerly Scancourt Hotel) is as basic as it gets. For your money, you get a spartan en suite room with basic amenities such as a TV and a kettle. Don't expect a reception - you have to check in at the Royal Court Apartments at 51 Gloucester Terrace. If you can manage to ignore the mildly unhelpful staff, then Paddington Hotel is a good place to stay to get out and enjoy London's highlights, which are all within close reach of the hotel.
