Unattractive 1960s exterior notwithstanding, the Peacock Theatre is an excellent venue for dance and music, hosting events from ballet to The Snowman. There's been a theatre on this site since the seventeenth century, with this incarnation owned (and often used) by the London School of Economics by day and Sadler's Wells West End by night. The theatre's circle bar often has displays of work by artists.
