La Perla is part of the Cafe Pacifico group with sister restaurants spanning the globe in Paris, Amsterdam and Sydney. Subscribing to the Mexican-American concept in cooking, La Perla serves up a colourful array of specialities associated with the current Mexico mania, including enchilladas, burritos and nachos, with tortillas and chillies aplenty, although it is particularly famed for its fiery fajitas. Inspired by Mexican beach life, the décor and atmosphere imparts a little bit of Cancún into London living, and the bar stretching almost the full length of the restaurant is perfect for lining up the 70 different varieties of tequila shots. The local clientele also come for Mexican cervezas and botanas (beers and bar snacks), and the margaritas are second to none.
