The Pottery Cafe is the place to go when you've just got to create. A flat studio fee of £5 lets you spend as long as you like decorating and customizing the vessel of your choice, be it an eggcup or vase (which must be paid for separately. After an initial one-to-one demonstration by a member of staff, you can start your own work of art, which will be glazed, baked and ready for collection within a week. If you'd rather someone else do the hard work, you might want to have a look at the pieces that Bridgewater have next door. Parties are welcome here (there are facilities for up to 50 people) and it is often frequented by hen parties in search of a pre-dinner laugh. Basic snacks and drinks can be bought.
