The Prince Edward Theatre was refurbished in 1978 for the grand opening of 'Evita' in London. Since then, the theatre has continued in the tradition of showing crowd-pleasing musicals. Every now and then a different genre of performance may make the stage, but this is merely the exception that proves the rule. The air-conditioned theatre has 1,643 seats, wheelchair access in the stalls and dress circle, and four bars.
