The Pulpit is all sawdust and barrels with a small selection of leather sofas among the wooden tables and chairs. This basement wine bar offers a wide selection of wines, ports and cognacs. There are also hot and cold sandwiches on offer all day, and good square meals in the large restaurant area - which has some curious little cubby-holes for those in need of extra privacy. A favourite for City gents and other local business types, either looking for a spot of lunch or some after-work drinks. Service is good and the staff are friendly. There are regular cigar evenings and wine-tastings, too.
