This is a nice addition to the City dining scene, but hardly one to make a splash despite its location in the former NatWest Tower, now known as Tower 42. Rhodes TwentyFour - so named because it occupies the 24th floor of the skyscraper - features a restaurant and a bar. But while a delicious range of cocktails may leave you as giddy as the heights, the restaurant is decidedly down to earth. The view's nice - especially by night when the wall to ceiling windows look over myriad City lights stretching down to the Thames and beyond - but the modern dining room is a rather dull and starchy affair with its white tablecloths and muted, formal decor. The menu changes often, however, and offers an extensive range of modern European dishes for the businessman looking for something new. It's tradition with a twist: everything from Terrine of Confit Rabbit and Pistachio with Brioche to Granny Smith's Sorbet.
