The Royal Academy of Arts in London is England's most prestigious arts institution. It was founded in 1768 by a group of artists, headed by portrait painter Joshua Reynolds. Its collection consists of paintings, sculptures, memorabilia, prints and drawings from the 18th century to the present day. Currently, there are four exhibitions on display, including William Nicholsons', the British painter and printmaster. Also, every Friday, the gallery has a free live jazz performance and all the exhibitions, restaurants, and bars stay open late.
