Ascot is the most famous and prestigious flat-racing event in the English calendar. Famous as much for the ladies' hats as the racing, dress at this event is formal, and it is a showpiece of tradition and high fashion. Ladies' Day is on the Thursday of Royal Ascot, and sees all the women that attend wearing the most flamboyant hat they could find. Members of the Royal Family attend on each of the four days. The event is extremely popular and tickets always sell out quickly.
