A Knightsbridge institution for the rich and famous, San Lorenzo is better known for its glamorous clientele than for the quality of its food and service. The façade doesn't say much, with tinted windows that are probably intended to protect the privacy of its well-heeled diners. Coiffured, chauffeured ladies who lunch fill the place most afternoons, probably taking respite from their hard work of shopping at Harrods just around the corner. Despite the somewhat unremarkable Italian food the place is always packed, so it's essential to book.
