So Irish it uses a shamrock instead of an apostrophe on its lettering, Sheelan's prides itself as much on its Celtic hospitality as on its wonderful, and surprisingly inexpensive food. Spacious and elegant, yet alive and kicking, this is a great place to celebrate a special occasion and proprietor Catherine Lynn has a charming, friendly air, as do the waiters and barstaff. The curved, oak prop of the oyster bar hides the more intimate restaurant, and serves fresh oysters, imported daily from Rosslare, as well as a fine selection of Irish whiskies and, of course, the best Guinness in London.
