The simple decor of this ex-smokehouse is perfect for the unabashed enjoyment of straightforward English food with massive quantities of meat. Free of the fetters of modern, squeamish sensibilities we can enjoy such delights as pressed pig's tongue and braised kid, or pig's spleen and bacon. There are fish, poultry and vegetarian dishes as well, including delicious red mullet and fennel, and plain grilled sole. The best of British indeed.
