Visualisation of deities is an essential part of Buddhist meditation. Which is why the Tibet Shop only sells high quality statues and thangkas - Buddhist paintings - and avoids cheap tourist creations that have many errors compared to the original texts. Because of the political situation, making Buddhist artworks is illegal in Tibet, so all of their statues and paintings are handmade by Tibetan, Bhutanese and Nepalese artists in exile in Nepal. They also sell jewellery, clothing, meditation tapes and incense to help up the spirituality quota of your loft apartment. Donations to the Free Tibet campaign and for Buddhist activities at the Dharma Centre in Finland are welcomed.
