This good quality, budget Japanese eatery on the fringes of Chinatown is typically simple and quite traditional in terms of decor, harking back to an era when Japan was first opened to the West. Rather than minimalist, the look is more minimum fuss, with clean lines and basic but homely wooden furniture. Chow on big bowls of noodles, Japanese curries, bento boxes or sushi/sashimi platters. The sushi is super fresh, and the teriyaki good and saucy, although it can veer towards overdone on occasion. There are lots of special deals available throughout the day, so this is definitely a good bet for a cheap and hearty feed in the centre.
