With the advent of the Channel Tunnel London can now be accessed from the continent by train. Eurostar takes rail passengers from Brussels or Paris to London's Waterloo. (Eurostar: 0345 303030). Within Britain, the train schedules are displayed in stations or one can know them by phoning the London travel information line. There are a number of overland rail lines which cover London. The North London line, provides the only east - west rail link bypassing the middle of town, linking stations in east London through north London over to Kew in the west. London has a number of mainline stations which offer services to the rest of the country. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR): This light rail system covers a large segment of east London and Docklands, intersecting with the Tube network at Bank, Tower Hill and Stratford. Tramlink: This service, which sees trams appear on London's streets for the first time in 40 years, covers suburban south London linking Wimbledon, Croydon, New Addington and Beckenham.
