This Shoreditch-based Vietnamese canteen-restaurant couldn't be further removed from the chain noodle bars that have seemingly taken over this part of the city; this is the genuine article. Enjoy freshly made and exquisitely prepared dishes, alongside the cool, arty types that have infested the neighbourhood in recent years, and who have all but taken over what started off as a community centre (where its sister restaurant Huong Viet still thrives). The venue is purely functional, with no expense spent on the decor (not to mention the plastic chairs that serve as "furniture"), but with food as good and reasonably priced as this, who cares? Especially recommended are the tamarind chicken and the spring rolls, which are stuffed full of fresh coriander and mint
